Monitor and Display Lift Mechanisms

We make springs for monitor and display lift mechanisms, matching the spring output to the moving load and usable travel. The guides and transmission determine how that force reaches the display, so we review the mechanism layout as well as its mass.

The mechanism problem

The spring contributes a lifting or counterbalancing force, while guides, friction, transmission components and any holding mechanism also affect movement. The required feel during upward and downward adjustment should be described separately.

Our supply is the spring component for the lift mechanism. Share the installation arrangement and target force at the spring connection so we can assess a suitable spring.

Describe the whole travel

Provide the moving mass, centre-of-load location, lift stroke and mechanism layout. State the desired force at the spring connection at defined travel positions where possible. If the force is specified at the user handle instead, show the transmission between that point and the spring.

Compare the spring requirement

Constant force springs can be reviewed where approximately steady assistance is required. If the target changes with position, a variable force spring may be a better starting point. Specify any separate holding or locking function in the mechanism design.

Prepare these inputs

  • Moving mass and the position of the load relative to the guides.
  • Lift travel, guide layout and any pulley, cable or linkage arrangement.
  • Required force at defined positions and acceptable adjustment effort.
  • Available coil space, mounting support, end attachment and strip path.
  • Travel stops and the role of any separate holding device.
  • Duty target, operating environment and sample/production quantities.

Drawing or sample review

Send the spring and mating mechanism drawings together where available. A sample can also start the review, but include the intended load and travel rather than relying on the sample alone. Acceptance points should identify both the measurement position and the installed conditions.

Prepare your lift spring enquiry

Send the lift layout, available spring space and desired force at key travel positions. If you have a sample, include its installation details and the movement you want to achieve.
