Specify the torque through the working angle
- Torque: output at stated angles, with units and permitted variation.
- Rotation: working angle, winding direction, installed position and mechanical stops.
- Envelope: inside and outside clearances, axial space, arbor and housing dimensions.
- Ends: inner and outer attachments and their mating features.
- Operation: target cycles, speed, hold periods, noise constraints and environment.
- Supply: drawing revision and sample or production quantities.
Show the installed spring position as well as its free shape. Clearance and contact between parts need review over the whole working movement.
Materials and forming requirements
We work with SUS301, SUS304, SK5, 65Mn and 60Si2Mn. Across our flat-strip products, the processing range is 0.1–0.6 mm thick and 1–100 mm wide, depending on the product, material and thickness–width combination. We confirm the strip dimensions against the torque, angular travel and space in your design.
We carry out strip slitting and setting heat treatment in-house. We confirm the end forms, tooling and inspection points for your design. Include any surface-finish, friction or durability requirements so these can be considered with the mounting arrangement.
Develop from a drawing or sample
We can work from PDF, DWG, DXF or STEP drawings, or develop from a sample. Include the installed position, attachment details and required torque at the working angles. These let us review the spring geometry and tooling with your mechanism in mind.
Questions before requesting a quote
Is a flat spiral spring the same as a wire torsion spring?
A flat spiral spring is made from strip, while a wire torsion spring has a coiled wire body and legs. Show us how the spring fits and moves in your mechanism if you are unsure which construction to specify.
Can you review a torque target without a finished spring drawing?
Yes. Send the torque needed at defined angles, available space and attachment layout. We can start with those requirements and work with you to confirm the spring dimensions.
What quantities and timing should I discuss?
A typical starting quantity is 10 samples, with a production MOQ of 500 pieces. Samples generally take 7–10 days, and normal production takes 10–15 days depending on quantity and spring complexity. We confirm the quantities, tooling, how days are counted, the start date and the schedule in the quotation.
