Constant Force Springs

We make coiled flat-strip springs that provide approximately steady pull over a defined working stroke. Tell us the lifting load, travel and mounting arrangement so we can match the spring to your mechanism.

A drawing, sample or mechanism layout is enough to start the conversation.

A steady pull over the working stroke

A constant force spring develops a restoring pull as a preformed strip is extended from its coil. Its useful output is approximately steady over a specified operating range; it is not an exactly constant force at every position.

We develop springs for monitor and display lifts, shelf pushers and cordless blind mechanisms. We select the spring arrangement around the load, friction, transmission and space in your design.

Specify force, stroke and installation

  • Output: required force and permitted variation, with units and measurement positions.
  • Travel: usable stroke, starting extension and travel stops.
  • Mounting: coil envelope, support dimensions, strip exit direction and end attachment.
  • Mechanism: moving mass, friction, guides and any pulley or transmission arrangement.
  • Duty: target cycles, operating frequency and environmental exposure.
  • Supply: drawing revision, sample quantity and production quantity.

If the target pull changes with position, compare variable force springs. For a rotating cable reel, start with the cord reel spring requirements.

Materials and manufacturing

We work with SUS301, SUS304, SK5, 65Mn and 60Si2Mn. Across our flat-strip products, the processing range is 0.1–0.6 mm thick and 1–100 mm wide, depending on the product, material and thickness–width combination. We confirm the strip size against the required pull and installation space.

We carry out strip slitting and setting heat treatment in-house. During sample development, we confirm the strip edges, end attachments and inspection points with you. Include the required operating cycles and conditions when the project needs a durability evaluation.

Develop from a drawing or sample

Send a PDF, DWG, DXF or STEP drawing with the required force and working travel. If you have a sample, include photographs and the mounting dimensions. We can use these to review the spring geometry, attachments and sample requirements.

Questions before requesting a quote

Can I specify just the lifting weight?

Include the mechanism layout as well. Guides, friction and transmission geometry affect the force required at the spring. Define acceptable force across the usable travel.

How should the spring be checked?

We agree force measurements at defined travel positions, using the mounting and preload conditions of your mechanism. Mark the critical dimensions on the drawing and identify any durability test needed for sample approval.

What quantities and timing should I discuss?

A typical starting quantity is 10 samples, with a production MOQ of 500 pieces. Samples generally take 7–10 days, and normal production takes 10–15 days depending on quantity and spring complexity. We confirm quantities, tooling, how days are counted, the start date and the schedule in your quotation.

Discuss your spring requirements

Send the required pull, travel and mounting dimensions with your drawing or sample details. Let us know the sample and production quantities you need.
